Windows 95 and Personal Oracle7 V7.1

Personal Oracle7 V7.1 is only supported on machines running Microsoft Windows 3.
1, 3.11 or Windows for Workgroups. It is not supported on Win-OS/2, Windows NT
or Windows 95.

In fact, when you install Personal Oracle7 V7.1 on Windows 95 (or Windows NT)
it will give you a warning to the effect that running Personal Oracle7 in that
environment is not supported. However, it does give you the option of
continuing the installation, despite the warning. Although it is then possible
to complete the installation, the database will fail to start with an error ORA-
03121 (or worse).

In summary, Personal Oracle7 V7.1 REQUIRES the installation of win32s and will
therefore only work on Windows 3.1, 3.11 and Windows for Workgroups. It is not
possible to run Personal Oracle7 V7.1 on Windows 95 or Windows NT. Oracle
database products are already available to run natively on Windows NT and
Windows 95.
